Study in UK โ€” Admission Requirements

UK Student Visa

For short courses (6โ€“11 months) applicants aged 18+ qualify for a short-term study visa. For longer courses you'll need an institution holding a sponsor licence. Key requirements: a course meeting government eligibility rules, Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), proof of finances, and good English language skills. Minors need evidence of guardian consent.

  • Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your institution
  • ATAS certificate if your course requires it
  • Tuberculosis test results
  • Your financial sponsor's written consent
English Language Requirements
You must prove English proficiency (reading, writing, listening, speaking) appropriate to your study level. Accepted tests include IELTS, PTE Academic, TOEFL and C1 Advanced. A UKVI officer may interview you โ€” if you can hold a conversation without an interpreter, you may be selected for entry.
Bachelors / Undergraduate Requirements
Apply directly or through UCAS. Pass an accepted English test; some courses need admissions tests (LNAT for law, BMAT for biomedical, GAMSAT). Submit birth certificate, ID card, passport, financial information and a personal statement. Students can choose up to five courses; applicants must be at least 16.
Masters / Postgraduate Requirements
English proficiency test, entrance exams, student visa, professional experience for certain fields (medicine, social work, business), personal statement, and meeting financial requirements.
PhD Requirements
Minimum GPA 3.3โ€“3.5, a relevant Master's degree, a chosen research topic and supervisor, English language requirements, personal statement and financial evidence.
